Invisible mark
Cheating by tampering with a marked deck is almost as old as cards themselves. The only thing that has changed is the technology used to escape detection. Cards marking experience different stages. Throughout the history of card marking so far, the earliest attempt to mark poker involves bending, curling and tiny needle impacts, or scratching with special tools, just like text labels.
As we mentioned above, back marked deck can be divided into 2 types according to their read devices. The biggest difference is that the application of ink is hugely different. That's mean, although those two type cards marked the same way, but you can't use infrared contact lenses or sunglasses to see the marks on playing cards for IR camera lens. There is no doubt that infrared contact lenses will be easier to operate than a camera lens which you need to install into unique item, such as chandelier, surveillance cameras, smoke detector and so on.
Invisible ink marked deck is based on the principle of infrared and ultraviolet light. In our daily life, we are no stranger to infrared and ultraviolet light. We know them, but we can’t see and touch them. They are invisible for us. Invisible ink precisely takes advantage of this principle. Processed cards are “invisible” for us because the invisible ink is beyond the wave band we can see through our naked eyes. Normally, we can see something with wave band between 390 to 700 nm.
If there is something beyond this range, this thing is invisible for us. Actually, it really exists. Just like marked deck poker, there really exist some special marks even though we can’t detect them by our eyes. But if we wear some specific devices, these marks will be visible. When printed by different invisible ink, these cheating cards will have different performances. Because IR invisible ink has different wavelengths with UV ink, IR marked decks can’t be viewed by UV contact lens. So do UV luminous cheating cards.
Q: Can I mark cards with the invisible ink pen?
A: In theory, this is feasible. But how to make the effect of marks is invisible perfectly is not only relaying on the ink, but also our marking cards machine. What's more, you should know how to mix ink with different color according to back pattern of playing cards.
As technology has advanced, so have cheating techniques. Marked cards with Invisible ink are still in use today in quite sophisticated forms. However, marked cards become more and more perfect and the high-quality luminous cards are invisible for naked eyes when exposed in different light. What's more, this type of invisible cards has a generality that their using time and retention period are very long. Usually, it can keep as long as 2 years under un-open .
